What Are Piglins and What Do They Do in Minecraft

Piglins are known to attack any player with no gold equipment. They'll also attack players who attack other Piglins or Pigline Brutes. They'll also attack you if you break/open any of the items listed below.

  • Chest
  • Trapped Chest
  • Ender Chest
  • Shulker Box
  • Barrel
  • Minecart with Chest
  • Minecart with Hopper
  • Boat with Chest

If you break any type of Gold Ore around them, that'll provoke them into attacking you.

Listed below is how much ranged damage they do in Java.

  • Easy: 2 Hearts
  • Normal: 2 Hearts
  • Hard: 3-5 Hearts

Listed below is how much ranged damage they do in Bedrock.

  • Easy: 2-4 Hearts
  • Normal: 2-4 Hearts
  • Hard: 2-5 Hearts

Listed below is how much melee damage they do in Java.

  • Easy: 5 Hearts

How to Find Piglins

Piglin only spawns in certain biomes in the Nether. Listed below are all the biomes you can find a Piglin in.

  • Bastion remnant
  • Crimson Forest
  • Nether Wastes

Piglin Variants

Piglins have two types of Variants, and both of them can be found in the Nether. Listed below are the other types of Piglins found in the Nether.

  • Zombified Piglin
  • Piglin Brute

Zombified Piglin

Zombified Piglins are a Netural Mob in Minecraft. They won't attack players unless provoked. If a Zombified Piglin is provoked and other Zombified Piglins are around, they will come to defend it. Zombified Piglin can often be seen walking around with a golden weapon or nothing at all. Listed below is how much damage they do with a weapon.

  • Easy: 5 Hearts
  • Normal: 8 Hearts
  • Hard: 12 Hearts

How to Find Zombified Piglins

How to Find Zombified Piglins only spawn in the Nether. Listed below are all the biomes they're known to spawn in.

  • Crimson Forest
  • Nether Fortress
  • Nether Wastes

Piglin Brute

Piglin Brutes are a Hostile Mob that attacks any player they see on sight. On Java, they're known to walk around without weapons, but on Bedrock, they only walk around with weapons. Below you'll find how much damage they do on Java with a weapon.

  • Easy: 7.5 Hearts
  • Normal: 13 Hearts
  • Hard: 19.5 Hearts

Listed below is how much damage they do without a weapon on Java.

  • Easy: 4.5 Hearts
  • Normal: 7 Hearts
  • Hard: 10.5 Hearts

Listed below is how much damage they do on Bedrock.

  • Easy:6 Hearts
  • Normal: 10 Hearts
  • Hard: 15 Hearts

How to Find Piglin Brutes

Piglin Brutes only spawn in one biome in the Nether. Below you'll see their one spawn location in-game.

Quick Tips and Facts

  • Piglins can open and close doors but can't open fence gates
  • Piglins can't swim and will drown if in water
  • Piglins aren't immune to fire or lava
  • Piglins will run away from zombified piglins, zoglins, soul fire, soul torches, soul lanterns, and lit soul campfires.

All Piglin Loot

Listed below is all the loot Piglins are known to drop when they die.

  • Gold Sword/Crossbow (Adults have an 8.5% chance of dropping)
  • Gold Armor (Adults will drop one of 4 Golden Armor)
  • 5 XP orbs if an Adult Piglin is killed by a player or tamed wolf
  • 1-3 XP orbs if a Baby Piglin is killed by a player or tamed wolf

All Zombified Piglin Loot

Listed below is all the loot Zombified Piglins are known to drop when they die.

  • Rotten Flesh: 0-1
  • Gold Nugget: 0-1
  • Gold Ingot: 1
  • 8.5% chance of them dropping whatever weapon they were carrying (Java)
  • 25% chance of them dropping whatever weapon they were carrying (Bedrock)
  • 5 XP Orbs when an Adult is killed by a player or tamed wolf
  • 12 XP Orbs when a Baby is killed by a player or tamed wolf

All Piglin Brute Loot

Listed below is all the loot a Piglin Brute is known to drop when they die.

  • 8.5% chance of them dropping whatever they were carrying
  • 20 XP Orbs when killed by a player or tamed wolf
