Piglin Behavior
All Piglins are naturally hostile towards players on all difficulties, bar Peaceful. However, there are a few ways to distract or pacify them. These methods don't apply to Piglin Brutes since they will attack you regardless of the circumstances.
- Drop Items:Piglins are temporarily distracted by most gold-related items, and should you drop a Gold Ingot, they'll even give you something back in return! The list of what they might give you is shown in the Piglin Trades & Bartering section below.
- Wear Gold Armor:If you're going into the Nether, we recommend changing your Boots or Helmet to Gold Armor instead of Diamond or Netherite. Piglins will not be inherently hostile toward players equipped with a piece of gold armor.
- Break a Gold block: When you destroy a Gold-related block, attack/kill the Piglin, and distract them up to five times while wearing a piece of Gold armor, the Piglin will stop attacking you.
These methods will work, but you mustn't do the following:
- Attack a Pigling or Piglin Brute with any type of weapon.
- While near them, open or break one of the following:
- Chest
- Trapped Chest
- Ender Chest
- Shulker Box
- Barrel
- Minecart with Chest
- Boat with Chest
- While near them, break one of the following:
- Block of Gold
- Gold Ore
- Gilded Blackstone
- Nether Gold Ore
- Block of Raw Gold
- Deepslate Gold Ore
You can try wearing a piglin head for a chance to stay undetected, or you can use the Invisibility effect and break items without angering them at close range.
Zombified Piglins
These Piglins won't attack you if you don't provoke them, but if you try to pick a fight, every Zombified Piglin in a 20-block radius will run after you with their Golden Swords and Crossbows. Zombified Piglin Brutes are even more dangerous, wielding Golden Axes and having twice the health as a regular Zombified Piglin.
Minecraft Piglin Trades & Bartering
The main interest of Piglins is that you can trade with them to obtain a random item that comes from a set list, but you will receive some more often than others. Piglins only barter withGold Ingots, which you can hand or throw to them on the ground, and they will reward you with one item listed below.
The Piglin will briefly stare at the Gold Ingot, during which you cannot give them another one. Once they put the ingot away, you can give them another one and receive a new item.
